Brian Fitzgerald

Market Growth Manager

What do you currently do at CHEST?

I help to grow and diversify sources of industry-funded projects that align with CHEST’s strategic priorities. Some of these priorities include data analytics, physician, patient, and industry employee education and training.

Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Chicago. I attended Loyola Academy for high school and then went to the University of Dayton in Ohio for my college degree. I love the city and currently live on the north side with my wife Elaine, daughter Molly (12), and son Conor (11).

What did you do prior to working at CHEST?

Prior to working at CHEST I was the Senior Manager, Professional Relations & Development, at the Association Management Center (AMC). AMC is a full-service health-care and trade association management company. In my role, I was responsible for increasing the non-dues revenues for a variety of health-care and trade organizations through corporate support, including industry relations partnerships, sponsorship, grants, exhibits, and advertising. The recent associations I worked with included the National Association of Neonatal Nurses (NANN), Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists (SCA), and the American Pain Society (APS).

What are some interesting facts about you?

  • I live an active lifestyle that includes mountain biking, hiking, camping, skiing, street roller hockey, cross-fit training, and playing on a soccer team.
  • I helped design and raise funding for a public arts project in my community. It is located on Peterson just east of Kostner Ave; here is a link to our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Sauganashmural/
  • I enjoy restoring and riding vintage motorcycles.
  • It is rare that I come across something that I cannot fix. It might take a while, but I can usually fix it: from cars to bikes, furnaces to laptops, electrical to plumbing, etc. I enjoy it, and I like to keep what I can out of landfill.
